Follow your massage with a 20-minute hydration therapy session. This mineral infused steam bath will completely relax you as the steam opens your pores and deeply moisturizes your skin. As the mood enhancing lights and euphoric aromas put your body into total relaxation, your body will naturally flush the unwanted toxins and burns calories.

Next, use your Lumiere skin-care kit to wash your face and prepare for your 20-minute Lumiere Light Facial. Choose from one of our three unique treatment options that best fit your skin concerns and sit back and relax while LED lights boost the collagen & elasticity production in your skin cells to help firm, repair and rejuvenate your face.

Choosing a Lotion

Aside from catchy names and a variety of fun packaging, how can you choose a lotion that is best for you?

First, you need to figure out which of 3 categories of lotion meets your needs: Accelerators with non-DHA bronzers, DHA-Bronzers, or Tingle.

Accelerators with non-DHA Bronzers
These lotions contain botanical ingredients to help accelerate your tan and improve tanning results without the chemical DHA, which is the primary chemical in sunless tanning applications. This is generally a matter of personal preference.

DHA Bronzing Lotions
These tanning lotions contain DHA in addition to the other botanical ingredients, in order to help you achieve a darker tan and prolong your tanning results. The amount of DHA is very small compared to a sunless tanning session, however when used frequently each time you tan, the chemical will gradually cause the same bronzing as a sunless session or self-applied sunless product.

Tingle
Tingle lotions are in a class by themselves. Some people love them, other must stay away because of specific skin sensitivities. The ingredients in a tingle lotion increase circulation and oxygenation by generating artificial heat when applied to the skin. Oxygen is a primary element in the tanning equation, and the heat helps to achieve results faster, as it helps to pull melanin to the skin's surface. You will feel hot during and after your tanning session, and this heat usually lasts from 1-3 hours, depending on the person. If you tingle frequently, you do develop a tolerance to the ingredients, and feel less discomfort over time. Why do people suffer through this? Because it works!

If you have never tried a tingle lotion, try a packet first. Being aware makes it more bearable. Know that you will be hot and your skin will look red, but you are not getting a sunburn. Be prepared to live with the sensation for a couple of hours. Wear loose clothing if possible, and do not shower until the tingle goes away. Wash your hands right after you tan, so you don't inadvertently touch your face or eyes with the solution. Use caution when touching your kids or family, as the lotion may rub off onto their skin and cause them discomfort.

Okay, but I'm still not sure how to pick the best lotion?
After deciding on one of three categories above, your next to questions are budget and fragrance, and not necessarily in that order! Most people choose a lotion based on fragrance first. Hydration Therapy

The Hydration Station offers the benefits of hot steam in a private and sanitary personal steam bed. During the 20 minute session, you are showered in hot steam and the temperature of the bed reaches 118 degrees. Vitamin and Mineral boosts can be added to help you achieve different results, and overall hydration therapy is the perfect addition to both UV and Mystic Tanning, or as part of our recommended spa regimen.

It is important to drink a lot of water both before and after using the Hydration Station, as the process will help you sweat and flush out your system, while providing moisture to your skin. When used prior to UV Tanning, the steam helps improve circulation and oxygenation of the skin, assisting in melanin production. As part of your Mystic Tan preparation, it opens the pores and softens and cleanses skin so you get a flawless application of the Mystic Solution. The session also burns calories and helps to liquefy the layers of fat and toxins that make up cellulite, assisting with cellulite and weight loss.

Mystic Spray Tan Preparation Tips

Even though Mystic Tan takes only moments to apply, good preparation is key to achieving the best, longest lasting results. If you are planning to Mystic Tan, here are the steps you should take prior to coming in:
1. Shower and Exfoliate. Mystic makes a special cleanser/exfoliator called "MysticReady", however you can also simply use a loofah or mesh puff and a body wash that doesn't contain oils or moisturizers.
2. Do Not Apply Lotions, Deodorant or Perfumes. These can act as a barrier to the Mystic Solution, and could leave you with uneven or splotchy results.
3. You can UV tan prior to Mystic. Just do not use your UV lotion while you tan.
4. Do not shower for at least 6 hours.
5. Do not exercise, do yardwork, swim, etc. during the first six hours.

How Does Mystic Tan Work?

Mystic Tan works through a chemical reaction between its key ingredient DHA (dihydroxyacetone) and the outermost layer of your skin. The process creates a color change that simulates the look of a natural suntan. Typically, results are seen within 4-6 hours, and develop fully 24 hours after application.

Our Mystic Tanning booth is fully automated, and uses compressed air to spray solution from an individual cartridge. Clients are sprayed 4 times, twice from the front on an angle, and twice from behind. Generally, you are dry when you exit the booth and you don't need to blot or blend.

We carry Mystic's newest line of cartridges in Medium and Dark. Both are nearly odorless and clear. Medium is better suited for fair skin types or those who aren't sure about the level of color they will receive from Mystic Spray Tan. Dark develops to a deep tan shade, and works well for those with a good base tan or naturally darker skin tones.
